UPSTART Electronic Music Education is an Ableton Certified Training Center based in Berlin, founded in 2012 by Maya Consuelo Sternel, the world's first Ableton Certified Trainer. Its core offering is the distance-learning program "Ableton Live Complete," one of the few state-recognized (ZFU-approved) distance courses in this field (registration number 7250812).

The course leads participants step by step through their own music production: from the first musical idea to a fully arranged track. It runs for four months, with a new group starting every month.
Teaching is done exclusively by Ableton Certified Trainers who are themselves active musicians, DJs and producers. Questions during the course are answered promptly by email, Zoom or phone; submitted production assignments receive detailed, constructive feedback with concrete tips for further development and refinement.
For those who want to focus on a specific topic or connect with others, UPSTART also offers workshops, in-person formats for cultural institutions and event organizers, and individual one-on-one coaching.
Under the name Donna Maya, UPSTART founder Maya Consuelo Sternel remains active internationally as a musician and producer: she creates atmospheric, narrative and tension-filled techno combining electronic sound design with theremin, and runs the label Sound Sister Records.
